How long have you been playing volleyball?
“I have been playing volleyball for nine years. I started in third grade when I went to summer camps with friends and instantly loved the sport.“
Do you play any other sports at FHC?
“I do not, since I play club volleyball as well. I go year-round.”
What is your best memory from your time playing volleyball?
“I loved winning districts against Forest Hills Northern my sophomore year. Northern is our rival, so the win was huge, considering how close the game was. We came back in a 5-set win. It was also the biggest student section volleyball ever had, making the game super tense and exciting.”
What music do you listen to to get fired up for games?
“I listen to a lot of rap music. I like faster-paced music because I feel like it pumps me up and gets me in the right mindset to play.“
What are your individual goals for this season?
“I want to win districts again. We have done it for the last two years, and I think it would be amazing if we did it a third time. It’s my last year playing volleyball, so I want to end on a high note.”
Is there any significance behind your number?
“It was my first number given to me at club volleyball when I was 11 years old, so I stuck with it because I figured it would be my lucky number.”
What is your favorite class this year and why?
“I love AP Chemistry. Even though it is a very challenging course, it’s fascinating to learn about, and the people in the class make it super fun. It’s also a smaller group of people, so it’s more laid back.”
Who is your favorite professional athlete?
“My favorite professional athlete is Kathryn Plummer. She is a professional women’s volleyball player. Being younger when she started playing and watching her grow and set tons of records made her super inspiring.”
