How long have you been running cross country?
“I have been running cross country for nine years.”
What other sports do you play at FHC?
“I also run track at FHC.”
What is your best memory from your time running cross country?
“My favorite memory from running cross country is getting a big PR at Portage last year. I couldn’t believe that I was doing as well as I was, and the looks on my coaches’ faces during the race told me they didn’t either.”
What are the strengths of this year’s team?
“We have an incredibly strong team this year. With ten senior girls, our team is upperclassmen-heavy and has been working hard for years. We have been putting in summer mileage, so we were able to jump into the season right away and win our first meet.”
What are your individual goals for this season?
“I want to break 21 minutes this year. I would also love to go back to the state finals as an alternate or make one of our top seven runners.”
Who is the biggest influence in your athletic career and why?
“My biggest influences on athletics are my teammates. They set examples and goals that are admirable.”
Do you have any superstitions associated with your meets?
“I use a specific pair of socks for every race; however, I do wash them. I also have some superstitions associated with racing hairstyles.”
What is your favorite class this year and why?
“My favorite class so far this year is AP Calc because Mr. Garb makes more sense.”
