With the beginning of spring comes the start of baseball season and like other spring sports the Ranger baseball team is gearing up to start this season off strong. After ending the season at regionals last year, the Rangers continue that drive to succeed.

The players’ spirits are up with many new additions to the team this year. With new people comes a new dynamic, which will set the tone for the season.

“The team chemistry is good and everyone will work together well. The team looks good and this should be a successful season,” said junior Hayden Myers.

The Rangers are getting excited about the season and are ready to start off strong.

“This year the strong team bond and hard work in practice will get us off to a good start and get the momentum to continue on to a great season,” said Trevor Williams a junior on the team this year.

This season will not come easy but the Rangers have prepared for this and are continuing to better themselves physically and mentally.

The boys have been working hard throughout the off-season. Senior Chase Robinson discussed exactly how the Rangers have been preparing for the season. “We had a lot of individual workouts along with Sunday workouts as a team to stay loose and ready for the upcoming season.”

After a long-awaited return to the field, the Rangers will return with fresh arms and a tough mentality.

The first challenge of this season comes with game one. The Rangers will face off against Grandville, the same team that knocked them out of playoffs last year, in a doubleheader. This will be a tough match but the Rangers are ready for the game. The game will take place at 4 pm on Monday, March 27 at the Grandville.

Editor’s note: Varsity baseball’s game against Grandville (3/27) is canceled due to field conditions and is set to be played on 3/28.
