On Monday, the girls varsity golf team played in the Grand Rapids Christian Jamboree at Cascade Hills Country Club. The Rangers placed fourth in this event with a score of 193. Senior Ava Metaj led the girls with a score of 47. Both seniors Maddie Knoor and Taylor Baumgardner continue to be consistent for the team.

Head coach Paul Teneyck has really been looking forward to the return of Senior Ava Metaj.

“It was great to have Ava back in the lineup,” Teneyck said.

Although the girls struggled throughout the round, they enjoyed playing such a nice golf course.

“We had some longer par threes than we were used to, but it was a great experience to play such a well-kept course,” Taylor said.

As the season is winding down, the girls begin their preparation for regionals.

“We have to start to really focus on our practice to give ourselves the best opportunity to make it to states,” Taylor said.
