Autumn Burns
Over the course of her three-year varsity career, senior soccer player Autumn Burns enjoyed significant success. The star center back played for FHC as well as her club team, as she contributed to many of the team’s shutouts. Autumn was voted OK White All-Conference in 2018 and 2019, as the 2020 season was unfortunately cut short. Off the field, Burns has a tremendous impact. Aside from being a team captain, the senior participates in the Helping Hands club at FHC. Additionally, Autumn is currently a standing member of the National Honors Society in her second year. Burns has committed to Ferris State University for soccer, as she just recently signed her letter of intent to be a Bulldog for life.
What are some of your favorite memories of playing soccer at FHC?
“One of my favorite memories is blasting our favorite music on the bus rides to and from our games. Another one of my favorites is when we went to the semifinals, but we lost in PKs even though we played so well and honestly deserved to win.”
Describe the RGSO community. How does the family atmosphere translate to the field?
“The Lady Rangers of RGSO are definitely a family and definitely a close, caring one at that. We push each other to do better and strive to be the best we can be on and off the field. We love to see when one of us accomplishes something great because it feels like a win for all of us.”
What is one of your proudest accomplishments at FHC?
“Being in the National Honors Society (NHS) for two years now and being able to help my community with acts of service.”
Why did you choose Ferris?
“I chose Ferris because it is a great school for soccer, and the coach seems great and super down-to-earth. My parents went there, and they both had an enjoyable time. The size is perfect for me and is close but not too close to home. Most importantly, the feeling when I walked on campus was perfect, and I knew that I would be happy there.”
What do you look forward to the most at Ferris State?
“At Ferris, I’m looking forward to playing high-level soccer and meeting new people that will hopefully be a new family for me like FHC was.”
