Boys varsity tennis wins another conference match 8-0

Last night, the Rangers played a conference dual match away at Northview. Having their one doubles team senior Chris Battiste and junior Cully Herbert sit out, each doubles team moved up a spot, and the boys still beat their opponent. Coming off of a dominating 3-0 quad win on Saturday, the team continued their winning streak and went 8-0 for the day.

Of all the games played, the Wildcats only won a total of eight games against the Rangers. No player lost any more than one game per set, which was very impressive. On the singles side, sophomores Sammy Yin and Chris Shang, who play one and three singles, both had outstanding matches. The two swept their opponents, both going 6-0 and 6-0 for the afternoon.

The doubles team consisting of junior Liam Sweetman and freshman Phillip Murdock was bumped up to play four doubles for the match. The duo had a great match and beat their opponent in two sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-1. Another doubles team of junior Devin Holcombe and sophomore Noah Kriekard played three doubles and only gave up one game to the Wildcats during the entire match.

On September 23rd, the Rangers will host the Byron Center Bulldogs in another conference dual starting at 4:15 PM.
