JV field hockey starts their season off strong with a 3-0-1 record
The JV field hockey team is starting its season off strong with players from FHC, FHN, and FHE. The group began their season on a high note with three wins and one tie.
Coach Carol Aaron is excited about this upcoming season but worries about what few players she has this year.
“The JV team is doing well, 3-0-1,” Coach Aaron says. “We have small numbers this year and could use more players. It is a combined team. All JV players have played some in a varsity game, and we are playing seven vs. seven instead of 11 a side. Plus, we have some varsity players help with the JV games.”
FHN sophomore Freida Kincaid is proud of the hard work of the team and the work that they are putting in.
“This season, our games have gone amazing,” Freida said. “As a team, we have been working together really well. We haven’t had anyone try to outshine the rest of the team. I’m super happy about that because I want everyone to get a chance to show what they can do.”
FHC freshman Ava DeBano is looking forward to growing as a team and individual player this season.
“Something I hope for this season is to have fun mostly, but work hard and keep trying my hardest,” Ava said. “Also, [I want to] keep working hard as a team so we can work together and play hard.
The team’s next game is Wednesday, September 7, at Rockford High School.
