Boys JV golf beats Greenville and Northview in its last few weeks of competition
With the spring sports season dwindling down, the boys junior varsity golf team is feeling the pressure and rising to the occasion on the golf course no matter its opponent.
On June 16, the boys went head to head against the Greenville Yellow Jackets away at Brookside golf course. Both teams showed up ready to compete, and at the end of the 9 holes, the Rangers walked off the links with a clean win over the Yellow Jackets.
The following day on June 17, the team invited the Northview Wildcats to its home course at Thornapple Pointe for a face-off between two of the best teams in the conference. With luck on their side, the Rangers stole back-to-back wins against the Wildcats.
The Ranger golf team takes on Bryon Center next on Monday, May 23, at Maple Hill, at 3:30 P.M.
“We are a young team in terms of golf experience,” head coach Bill Alexander said. “Almost half of our players just started playing golf in the past 2-3 years. That being said, they all have the potential to be really good.”
