JV baseball took on the Jenison Wildcats on Friday, May 13, and both games were nail-bitters.

In game one, freshman Braedon Rozema got the start. He lasted five innings and only allowed two hits while striking out three batters. FHC pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. Sophomore Roman Brummel doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Fellow sophomore Alex Brown drew a walk that scored a run, leading to an error to score two more for the team.

JV baseball took a 6-4 win over the Wildcats. With one more game to play and the temperature increasing, the boys had to fight for their record to stay at only one loss.

In game two, sophomore Val Wals had the start on the mound and went three innings, allowing five hits and striking out three. FHC acquired ten hits in the game. Sophomores Jacob Harleton and Hayden Myers had multiple hits to assist in the big win over the Wildcats.

This win was secured in a walk-off fashion by Jacob. FHC trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the fifth when Harleton singled on a 1-2 count to score two runs and come out of the game with an 18-1 record.

JV baseball will play away against the Northview Wildcats on Monday, May 16, at 4:15 PM.
