The Forest Hills varsity water polo team has been faced with many roadblocks this season, but in recent weeks, the girls’ luck has turned around. Through grit and determination, the team managed to pull off another win before districts.

On Monday, May 9, the girls took on Portage High School in their last game before districts and didn’t disappoint. The team battled head-to-head against Portage up until the final period when it came up with the victory.

“The team has done very well,” senior Caroline Bell said. “We have improved a lot since the beginning of the season and it’s nice to see that our hard work is paying off.”

The Forest Hills team won 14-2 in a strong showing of its talent. This win helped seed the girls higher into the district tournament while also boosting their confidence.

“I think we played really well and we really wanted the win,” junior Sydney VanLente said.

The team will continue to work hard up until its last game, so it is only a matter of time before the ladies show what they are capable of.

Forest Hills takes on the best of the district in the tournament later this week where it will either earn the chance to play again or be sent home for the season.
