Growth as an individual, growth on the field, and growth as a community are the girls JV soccer team’s goals throughout the season, which the girls continue to show from every practice to every game.

The girls continue to develop their skills and develop as a team with their second win of the season against Forest Hills Northern by a score of 2-0. The goals were scored by Gretta Kriekard along with Madi Evans. Gretta is proud of her team and herself for what they did during the fourth game of their season.

“I think it went pretty well; I think we could have played a bit better and, for our next game, I’m confident we will win,” Gretta said.

During the game against Greenville, sophomore Skyler Tierney scored three goals out of eight total, with one of her goals being a header off a corner kick.

Coach John Blodgett is especially proud of his goalie, Jenna Lowell. Throughout the games thus far, she has only let a few goals go past her.

“The defense as a whole has been great. Jenna Lowell has been fantastic in goal,” coach Blodgett said.

At Ranger Stadium, the girls continued their winning streak by beating Dexter 1-0. The whole team is ecstatic about the continuous wins against strong competitors. Madi Evans understands what the girls still need to work on along with the fact that they are doing a wonderful job.

“I think the games went well considering we had never played together as a team,” Madi said. “There’s definitely some things we can work on, but considering the conditions, I think we did a really great job.”

The girls’ next game is against Lowell at Ranger Stadium on April 25, at 5:00 PM. The girls have been anxiously waiting to play one of their stronger competitors to see if they can keep up their winning streak.

“I am expecting us to continue to be very competitive as the season progresses,” coach Blodgett said. “As our offense gets more comfortable playing together, I expect our team to have a lot of success”.
