What does your role look like on this year’s team?
“This year, I’m one of two seniors along with Conner Defouw. I’ve also been elected the captain of the squad, so my role is helping to develop the younger guys and be a role model for them.”
How would you describe your relationship with your head coach, Paul TenEyck?
“I’ve known coach TenEyck for a long time—since seventh grade, I think. He’s been one of my biggest supporters throughout my high school career. He has helped me navigate golf courses and improve my game throughout all four years.”
What is the main goal for the team this season?
“The goal for this season is the same as any other year. We hope to have a strong regional performance in order to secure a spot at the state championships.”
How has the game of golf impacted your life?
“Golf has done so much for me. It’s given me a great group of friends around the state and built lifelong relationships. It’s helped me grow as a person in so many ways.”
Where have you made the most strides when it comes to your golf game?
“I have really made improvements in my short game the past couple of years; it’s the most important part of the sport and where you lose strokes the most.”
